Popular Filipino Movies and Concerts Now Available Through Subscription-Video-On-Demand Service

Raffy Lopez "We're thrilled to expand ABS-CBN distribution offerings with a convenient and affordable video-on-demand service," said Raffy Lopez, chief operating officer of ABS-CBN Global. "For the price of one movie rental at a local video store, fans of classic Tagalog movies and music concert extravaganzas will welcome the flexibility of watching their favorite shows in the comfort of their living rooms."
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – August 2, 2007 – ABS-CBN Global, the North America-based subsidiary of ABS-CBN Broadcasting, today announced that Comcast, the nation's leading provider of cable, entertainment and communications products and services, has added Filipino On Demand to its signature ON DEMAND service. The new subscription-video-on-demand (SVOD) service will feature 25 hours of content, with new programming available regularly.

Filipino On Demand offers Comcast Digital Cable customers access to popular Filipino entertainment programs, including movies and concert series from top-rated channels like Cinema One and MYX Philippines, the number one music channel in the Philippines. The new service is now available in many major Comcast markets nationwide, including the San Francisco Bay Area and Central California; Seattle; Portland; Chicago; Detroit; Atlanta; Philadelphia; Washington, D.C.; and South Florida.

“We’re committed to offering programming choices that reflect the diverse interests of our customers, and Filipino On Demand will offer unique, relevant programming to the growing U.S. Filipino population,” said David Jensen, Vice President of Programming Acquisition for Comcast.

In addition to Filipino On Demand programming, Comcast Digital Cable customers can select from more than 9,300 ON DEMAND programs each month. Viewers can watch their favorite programs whenever they want, with the convenience of being able to pause, rewind or fast-forward their selections.

Pricing and Availability

The new service is priced at $7.99 for a monthly subscription or for $5.99 per month for customers who also subscribe to a Filipino premium network on Comcast.
