HOUSING:

REAL ESTATE MATTERS / MAR 2007

Arizona is now the Fastest Growing State in the Country

By Mimi Estel

Tired of the hurricanes and the humidity?

Explore Arizona! We may have the heat for about four months, but the rest of the year is great weather. We have no earthquakes, no tornadoes, and definitely no hurricanes.

Plus, the state is now reported as the fastest growing state in the country. It just added about 213,000 people in 2006. The state is projected to continue to grow at this rate for the foreseeable future.

Twenty thousand people are moving into Phoenix each month and Phoenix may become the 3rd largest city within two years. If you want to be where the opportunity is, the Greater Phoenix area is the place to be right now. Ride on to its growth! Now is the best time to buy a house since the market has taken a breather.

Despite rapid appreciation the last two years, decent housing is still affordable and your family can still enjoy a comfortable way of life in your dream house. Besides, unemployment in Arizona is about 3.3% and that means everyone can get a job.

A very new master planned community in the West Valley just opened this year, and this area is expected to house about a million people in the next 20 years. Since the facilities are still being put in place, builders are offering unbelievable incentives to make it very attractive to everyone to move into this newest development of Metro Phoenix.

Consider this. A brand new two story house with approximately 2,500 square feet living area with 4 bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms has only a base price of about $245,000. A spec home with upgrades - like granite countertops - is about $275,000.
