By BPN Staff Reporters

PALM BEACH, Fla., Feb. 13, 2007 -- Organizers of Kaleidoscope, the premier cultural event of West palm Beach, announced Elbridge Gale Elementary and the United Filipino American Association of Palm Beach were judged as winners of "Best in Partnership." Kaleidoscope 2007 featured 15 cultural villages representing 15 countries of the world.  Thousands of visitors were present at the cultural event in downtown West Palm Beach last Jan 28th.

Kaleidoscope is where elementary students in Palm Beach County schools work with local cultural organizations to learn about a country. The students then create a model village that represent the culture of their partner community organization.

Kaleidoscope provides an educational infrastructure where direct interface with members of a country’s cultural organization provide the young and brilliant minds of school children with a positive foundation and experience that they could carry forward as they grow.

The International Festivals and Events Association named Kaleidoscope as the "Best Educational Event" and "Best Community Outreach Event." Past public exhibits have attracted thousands to the whole day event. Programs include continuous live authentic cultural entertainment on two stages, more than a dozen villages from around the world, interactive activities for children, ethnic foods and refreshments, and an international bazaar.

Among the community cultural partners, the United Filipino American Association of Palm Beach County (UNIFIL), represents the Philippines in partnership with Elbridge Gale Elementary School. Previously, the UNIFIL and its school partner the John I. Leonard School, was awarded the Grand Prize in 2001.
