Named for Love
With a screen name that's Hindi for love, this 20-year-old celluloid fox
is a veteran at eliciting amorous responses from the male of the
species.
Pyar, of course, is no stranger to the business of eliciting such
reactions from men. Besides, Pyar is Hindi for love, or so her
grandfather told her. That's only her screen name, by the way. Her real
name sound funny -- Blanca Malabanan -- pairing purity with pozo
negros.But admirers of the young Blanca paid no mind. Long before
gettling into showbiz she has scores of suitors -- rich and poor, young
and old, famous and obscure -- queuing up at the Malabanan door in Tondo,
Manila.
Nobody got lucky except for a few,

notably a
childhood sweetheart whose then Blanca had something
else going for her. Not only did she have a pretty face
and a whistlebait figure, she also had enough brains to get
her a full scholarship as a nursing student at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod
ng Maynila.
What a nurse she would have been. But, unfortunately for
patients with fantasies about sexy nurses, showbiz
plucked her from obscurity at age 17. |

After a brief stint on German Moreno's GMA show
Bestfriends, she segued into such sexy movies as
Saranggani, Paninda, and Buko Pandan.
You may yet get to see her controversial 1999 film,
Butakal, Sugapa Sa Laman, which was not released due to
a court order stemming from a case filed against the
producer by Chiong family of Cebu, on whose lives the
rape story was allegedly based.
Speaking of luck, Pyar doesn't leave everything to
chance.
Fully aware how short a sexy star's professional like
can be, she has already set up her own talent promotion
firm, Pyar Entertainment Center. And she's to open her
own music bar sometime this year.
Once she gets her schedule fixed, she may yet return to
college -- this time to pursue a business course,
